Today in Team Lit 10/12

Learning Goals:
~Write your best personal narrative, or personal story, using memory of a person or place.
~Study the strategies for generating personal narratives.

Writing Workshop Activities:
Narrative Challenge
Write a narrative about a person using the map you drew and the moments you generated. 


Strategies for Generating Personal Narratives
Person- List important people and moments associated with them.
Place- Draw a map of a place and list moments that happened involving areas on the map.
Chart- Make a chart of to organize your ideas

1) Finish your map and moments
2) Flash draft on moments
3) Chart Firsts and Lasts

Make observations about different types of owls and their habitats.

Write a narrative about a person using the list of people and moments you generated. 

Writing Reminders
*Write a beginning for your story.
*Use transition words to tell what happened in order.
*Elaborate to help readers picture your story.
*Show what your story is really about.
*Write an ending for your story.

Homework:
-Finish your map and moments.  Come to class with one in mind to write about.

Person: Think of a person who matters to you, list small moment stories, choose one, and write the whole story.
Up- Carl and Ellie

Flash draft- write for 10 minutes using one of you people/moments
